Welcome to the homepage of the Translational Oncology program of the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg. Researchers from the University's Medical Faculties, Bioscience Faculty and the National Center of Tumor Diseases (NCT) have joined forces with their major extra-university cooperation partners, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), in a new strategic alliance to combat cancer. Within this evolving Cluster of Excellence, the translational research program specifically aims at fostering interdisciplinary interactions between basic cancer researchers and clinical oncologists in order to enforce the identification and rapid application of innovative diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic principles. A dedicated education and career promotion program will guarantee sustainability of Translational Oncology.

On this site, you can find information regarding all responsible investigators including a short CV and 10 selected publications for each of the 25 principle investigators. 25 key publications of Cluster researchers (with the respective link to PubMed) are listed under 'Publications'. A summary of the scientific and strategic goals of the Cluster Translational Oncology can be found under this link. Additional information, also addressing the general public, will be continuously added to this web platform, in the near future.
